Review of NyxBoard Hybrid

NyxBoard with dongle

For my birthday I got the Motorola NyxBoard from Pulse-Eight. I hadn't heard about it before but it looked great. I was looking forward for testing it with my homebuild media center. Until now I have used a diNovo Edge from Logitech and a Harmony 520 remote.

I have several times used lirc and set up different solutions but I have never really been satisfied. So for the last years I have only used the keyboard. So I was very curious how hard it would be to set this thing up. I got home around 5 in the morning after the party and five minutes later I had a working remote control for my XBMC solution. It was just plugin the small RF reciver into the USB port and it worked. True Plug and Play!

So now I have a remote and a keyboard in one that works without all the bother setting up lirc and program remotes and so on!
